Guided by its constitution, FEMNET will be holding its fourth Programming Conference and the General Assembly (PC/GA) on the 26--28 September 2007 in Nairobi, Kenya. The PC/GA is usually held after every three years and brings together FEMNET members from different geographical, linguistic and thematic representation to exchange and share their diverse experiences and knowledge on Africa women's struggles, demands, approaches and strategies. This year, the theme for the PC/GA is "Enhancing African Women's Leadership" and FEMNET members and partners will assess and reflect on the gains and losses made to boost African women's rights (i.e. civil and political rights; economic, social and cultural fights; rights to development and peace and reproductive and sexual health and rights). The diverse discussions will propose mechanisms to address some critical issues of common concern thereby contribute to advancing national, regional and international interventions for African women's movement. The PC/GA is also a space for members and partners to review FEMNET's governance and management performance and contribute to improving and influencing programmes and projects over the next three year period. On the last day, a new Board of trustees and Executive Board will be voted in through the General Assembly to serve for the next three years.
